EMDR Therapy in Overland Park, KS
If you feel stuck after painful experiences, EMDR therapy can help you process what happened in a safe, supported way so those memories feel less overwhelming and life can begin to move forward again.
You may look fine on the outside and still feel caught in patterns you cannot think your way out of. Maybe certain memories still carry too much weight, your body stays on alert, or you keep reacting in ways that do not make sense to you.
At Growing Hope Therapy, Kelly Corzine offers trauma-informed therapy for adults in Overland Park, including EMDR for people who want to process painful experiences with care, clarity, and a steady therapeutic relationship.

When painful experiences still feel present
EMDR therapy may be a good fit if you are dealing with:
-
Childhood trauma or difficult past experiences.
-
Disturbing memories that still feel emotionally intense.
-
Feeling stuck in anxiety, shame, avoidance, or self-protective patterns.
-
A sense that you have survived a lot, but have not fully healed.
You do not need to call your experience “trauma” for it to matter. If something still feels unresolved and continues to affect how you feel, relate, or respond, therapy can help.
What is EMDR therapy?
EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, a psychotherapy approach designed to help people heal from the distress connected to traumatic or disturbing experiences. EMDR involves focusing on aspects of a difficult memory while using bilateral stimulation such as eye movements, tapping, or audio cues as part of an organized treatment process.

What is Intensive Therapy?
For some adults, longer sessions can create more space for deeper trauma processing and fewer interruptions in the work. Intensives are 1.5 hour sessions (or longer if requested) that allow time for deeper reprocessing of traumatic events. Feel free to ask questions about what would be the best option for you.
